| Pittsfield, MA, April 2, 2007 – General Systems Company, Inc. |
The highly regarded German Trade Magazine, McK Wissen 20, features an interview in its March 2007 "Quality" issue with Dr. Armand (Val) Feigenbaum – President and CEO of General Systems Company, Inc. The interview occurred in January in his office overlooking Park Square in Pittsfield, which is situated in the "Heart of the Berkshires" of Western Massachusetts.
McK Wissen 20 requested the interview with Dr. Feigenbaum to use it as a lead article in a special issue dedicated to the subject of "Quality." The intent of this issue was to raise awareness amongst readers that quality is one of the most critical factors for success in today’s highly competitive global marketplace, in which advances in high tech have created greater customer demand for quality than ever before. The magazine also wanted to discuss the changing nature of quality: What does quality really mean in today’s world? A major point made during the interview was that quality is not only about defect reduction anymore, but about fulfilling customer’s quality expectations in every aspect, regarding the quality of both products and services.
The interview is augmented with profiles of companies that understand the need of having a constant connection with the rapid changes in the way customers actually buy. These are companies that listen to employees who directly understand customers and their demands; companies that manage to optimize their service processes to better fit customer needs. How this awareness is reflected in a company’s leadership is discussed and how companies manage to really make quality everybody’s job in a company – and, how they use it as an engine for future growth. Val’s reputation as the "Founder of Quality Management" made him the natural spokesman for this special "Quality" issue.
